Clearbrief, the award-winning, patented AI platform that helps lawyers find and view supporting factual evidence while writing in Word, cite-check both facts and law, and instantly generate timelines, exhibits, and Table of Authorities, today announced full platform integration with two leading legal industry software suites: Relativity and iManage. Today’s announcement demonstrates Clearbrief’s increasing adoption by Biglaw and courts due to its patented AI tools that improve accuracy and transparency for legal writing in Word. Clearbrief has previously announced integrations with leading case management platforms such as Clio, as well as legal research platform Fastcase/vLex.
Clearbrief’s proprietary AI technology analyzes the user’s Word document and instantly displays the underlying sources cited in the Word Add-In pane, while also making AI-powered suggestions to other evidence that could help win an argument in the draft. Clearbrief can also instantly generate a hyperlinked chronology chart with a summary of the events on each date, with the sources hyperlinked for easy verification by the lawyer, for use in depositions and trial prep.

By partnering with iManage and Relativity, users can now import folders and saved searches quickly and easily into Clearbrief so that users do not need to switch back and forth between different PDFs and tools during their focused writing process. And when the user is finished drafting, they can click a button in Clearbrief’s Word Add-In to create an instantly hyperlinked version of the draft for secure sharing with clients or filing with the court.

According to Clearbrief customers, it’s a game-changer to be able to turn a messy pile of documents into an organized outline of case events with citations in a matter of minutes, saving critical hours of non-billable admin time when preparing for a trial or facing a briefing deadline. Clearbrief’s patented features in Word also ensure no embarrassing mistakes make it into the final draft, as its ability to parse a document and instantly display legal and factual sources allows for thorough cite-checking.
“We are thrilled to make it even easier for legal writers to move seamlessly between the large volumes of factual documents uncovered during discovery and stored in their case management systems to the step of writing and sharing their analysis with the court and client. Our partnerships with Relativity and iManage are invaluable, allowing litigators to import evidence into Clearbrief for AI-powered legal writing in Word, letting attorneys view and cite to the critical documents that tell their client’s story,” said Jacqueline Schafer, Clearbrief Founder and CEO.
“Legal professionals succeed when they paint a clear picture of how evidence comes together through case documents. Relativity helps legal teams accomplish this from the e-discovery stage to production to presentation through RelativityOne,” said Laurie Usewicz, Chief Partner Officer at Relativity. “We’re excited to partner with Clearbrief to keep the evidence visible throughout one of the most critical steps in the legal process, case writing.”
“We recognize the potential of AI to enrich information, eliminate unnecessary tasks, and add value in lawyers’ day to day workflow. The Clearbrief integration with iManage utilizing our Universal APIs is a step in this direction and we are thrilled they are joining our robust partner ecosystem for the benefits it will deliver to our mutual customer base,” said Dean Leung, Executive Vice President of Digital Enablement and Communities, iManage.”
